A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked (ischemic stroke) or breaks (hemorrhagic stroke). During a stroke, nearly two million brain cells die every minute, which makes it critical to get the right care FAST in order to limit long-term disability and even save a life.

Know the Signs of a Stroke
- Balance – Watch for sudden loss of balance
- Eyes – Check for vision loss
- Face – Look for an uneven smile
- Arm – Check for weakness in one arm
- Speech – Listen for slurred speech
- Time – Call 911 right away
