Recipe of the month: Crockpot Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

2 c old fashioned oats, uncooked
2 apples, diced (skin on)
5 dates, finely chopped
2 tsp. cinnamon powder
4 c water
pinch of salt
Optional toppings: chopped nuts, berries, bananas, honey

Place all ingredients (except for toppings) in a crock pot
Gently mix
Simmer on low for 7- 8 hours
Top with favorite toppings
Note: this recipe can be made on a stove top. Follow all directions, except cook time will be 20 minutes
