Scoggin, a seasoned healthcare executive with over 15 years of leadership experience in rural and independent health systems, has been serving as the hospital’s Interim CEO since January 2026.
During his time as Interim CEO, Terry has worked alongside the hospital’s board, leadership team, clinicians, and community stakeholders to strengthen stability, renew organizational energy, and advance operational progress. “Community hospitals are built on trust, connection, and service, and those have guided my time at HMH. I’m proud to be given the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated HMH team and community stakeholders to advance health care for OUR community” Scoggin shared.
Prior to his time in Huntsville, Scoggin served as the CEO of Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, Texas for seven years, where they successfully spearheaded comprehensive service line transformations and an Epic EMR implementation, making it the only independent rural system in Texas on that platform. He also recently served as the Interim CEO for the Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals (TORCH), leading statewide advocacy for 156 rural hospitals.
Scoggin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University, where he was a dedicated member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and the Aggie Corps of Cadets. He also holds a Master of Science in Health Care Transformation from the University of Texas at Austin and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1995.
His commitment to healthcare advocacy includes extensive board-level experience, having served as the Past Chair of the Texas Hospital Association (THA) Council on Policy Development, a former THA Executive Board member, former TORCH Executive Board member, and a past member of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Future of Rural Task Force. Highly regarded for his civic contributions, he was recognized as the 2023 Mount Pleasant Chamber Citizen of the Year and named a NOSORH Rural Health Community Star. Terry and his wife, Tracie, are grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Walker county community and are committed to serving with purpose, compassion, and care.
