HMH Medical Clinic is a hospital-based Rural Health Clinic established in January of 1992, to meet the primary health care needs of Walker County residents. It is an ambulatory acute care clinic treating patients of all ages. Services such as those provided in a physician's office are available. Categories include pediatric care, adolescent medicine and adult medicine (no obstetrics).
What Sort Of Health Care Is Available At The Clinic?
Services such as those provided in a physician's office are available. The Clinic staff can take medical histories, perform complete physical exams, assess health status and provide routine lab tests. It can also diagnose and treat common health problems and make referrals, when necessary, for all ages.
Arrangements have also been made with HMH for Clinic patients to receive the following services when required: specialized diagnostic and laboratory testing, specialized therapy, inpatient hospital care, physician services, outpatient and emergency care.
Who Provides Care For Patients At The Clinic?
A licensed and certified medical staff serves the Clinic. Physician Assistants, Emile Kettle and Michael Ruttle, are available during all scheduled hours of operation. They are assisted by an office staff and supervised by Medical Director R. Karl Mahaffey, M.D.
Where Is The Clinic And What Are Its Operating Hours?
The clinic is found at 2507 Lake Road, in Suite 2. The Clinic is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments may be made by calling 936-291-3219 or 936-291-3240. Walk-in clients will be accommodated, although some wait time may be necessary.
