Emergency Medicine

The Emergency Department is under the direction of Board Certified Emergency Physicians and Registered Nurses certified in the specialty of Emergency Nursing (CEN). Our lead physicians and physician assistants are certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. All of our staff maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.

Nursing Staff

The nursing staff maintains proficiency and on-going education in the areas of cardiology, pediatrics and trauma -- just to name a few. Staying current in different areas of treatment and intervention allows our team to provide quality care to our patients.

The Emergency Department team is here to serve Walker County and surrounding communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any acute illness, injury, or trauma.

The Emergency Department team is supported by state-of-the- art laboratory, radiology and cardiopulmonary services.

Medical Treatments

When you arrive at the ED (commonly known as ER), you will be triaged (assessed and evaluated)by a Registered Nurse to determine the urgency of your illness or injury. The most critically ill or severely injured will be seen immediately. All patients will be seen as soon as possible depending on the number and acuity (seriousness) of the patients receiving care at that time.
