Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women. Early detection helps the chances for rapid and successful treatment. The HMH Radiology Department features a full-service, digital Mammography Suite where women can comfortably receive their mammogram. Certified technicians can easily provide answers to patient questions. The Scenography DMR Mammography Unit consistently achieves the highest inspection and certification rating by the Division of Mammography Quality & Radiation Program of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Digital mammography is coming to Huntsville Memorial in March 2010.
Digital mammography enables physicians to view a clearer and easily enhanced mammogram, while the new MammoPad provides a softer, warmer mammogram for every woman. MammoPad has been clinically demonstrated to reduce discomfort for women during the compression portion of the exam.
