HMH Support Groups

 

Huntsville Memorial Hospital offers several support groups for individuals dealing with a life-changing illness or condition. For more information or to inquire about forming a new support group, please call (936) 435-7919.

 

Amputee Support Group

Meets the third Thursday of every month from 4-5:30 p.m. at Huntsville Memorial Hospital Conference room C. Snacks are provided. The Amputee Support Group is for encouragement, comradery, and to discuss different topics related to amputees. Representatives will be present from various prosthetic companies. Bariatric Support Group

Meets the third Thursday of every month from 5-6 p.m. at Huntsville Memorial Hospital Conference Rooms A/B. Group will feature varied education presentations from experts. For questions, contact Lori Dupere (936) 291-4318

 

Diabetes Support Group

Meets the first Thursday of every month from 6-7pm, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital Conference Rooms A/B. Snacks are provided. Group will feature varied educational presentations from experts. For questions, contact Hannah Allen (936) 435-7919

Mended Hearts Support Group

Meets the second Wednesday of every month from 11:30-1pm, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital Conference Rooms A/B. Light lunch will be served. Group will feature varied educational presentations from experts. For questions, contact Hannah Allen (936) 435-7919

 

Parkinson's Support Group

Meets quarterly, Date and Location subject to change. Location usually: Multi-Specialty Clinic, 125D Medical Park Lane.

 

On Friday, September 23rd 18 members of the Parkinson's Support Group met at 116 Boxing Club for a discussion about "Parkinson's and Depression" led by mental health professional Lauren Hair, LCSW. Participants got a taste of boxing therapy after an informative talk. Employees from Huntsville Memorial Hospital's Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine were on hand to assist in the demonstration.
