Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase III
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase I
Begins while in the hospital. During this phase, the focus is on activity, education and discharge planning.
The most closely monitored phase. Intensive monitoring and supervision is required. The length of this phase
may depend on risk stratification and monitoring needs. Usual number of visits is 36. Patients typically
begin with low-intensity exercises designed to recondition the body. As they progress, more intensive exercise
will help to increase the patient's endurance. Patient and family education is also an important portion of the
sessions.
This phase may be utilized when intensive monitoring is no longer required and the participant is stable. Behavior
change and endurance training continues to be emphasized. Not covered by insurance. Cost is $30 per month.
Participants must be a graduate of a 6-12 week Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II program.
